Editor of Maire-Claire USA Joanna Cole said: "I am thrilled to be invited to judge the Scottish fashion awards because on a personal level I spent all my childhood vacations as a child on the West Coast of the Scotland, mostly on the spectacular Island of Mull, but I still remember the summer we spent on the Outer Hebrides where we went to see where Harris Tweed came from. I was spellbound watching the balls of wool get stretched and spun into rich tapestries, the dense greens, browns, purples and blues mirroring the gorgeous landscapes around us. Over the years on a professional level I have watched as Scotland has emerged as a leading player in design and fashion. No longer a side show, it is central in producing great, unexpected talents who reflect the country's complicated fascinating, romantic and fierce past, and I look forward to seeing who will emerge this year."

KENNETT ambassador & Champion Boxer Wayne McCullough is to carry the Olympic torch for Ireland on June 6th - the ceremonial handover will be from Wayne McCullough to Michael Carruth, two Irish boxers who won silver and gold respectively at the Barcelona Olympics in 1992.
Wayne recently flew back to his native Ireland to help announce that the Cuban Olympic boxing team have chosen Belfast as their training base during the Olympic Games this summer.

The team is among the best in the world having dominated the sport at an amateur level for many years.
Wayne commented on the announcement "Having had a Cuban trainer guide me through my Olympic journey and having met one in the final, I know that the Cubans are traditionally known as the best boxers in the world, so it's an amazing achievement to welcome the world's best boxing team to train here," said McCullough.
About Wayne McCullough
In 1993 Wayne moved to Las Vegas to train under Eddie Futch, who agreed to train him after seeing him at the Olympics. Within a year of turning pro, he had won the North American Boxing Federation title. On 30 July 1995, less than 2½ years since his pro debut, he won the WBC championship by beating the champion Yasuei Yakushiji in Nagoya, Japan to become Ireland's first ever WBC world champion. He was the first (and only) Irish or British fighter to travel to Japan and successfully win a belt.
